How to use this tool

Enter an exact local birth time and select the birth city. Read the rising sign and degree first, then explore its position on the chart. Near a sign boundary, even a small timing error can change the sign.

What the result means

The Ascendant is the intersection of the eastern horizon and the ecliptic. In astrology it is associated with first impressions and how you approach new situations. It is a calculated direction, not another planet.

How we calculate

Astronomy Engine calculates geocentric positions in the tropical zodiac. Birth times are converted using a bundled IANA time-zone database. House geometry and aspect rules are computed separately. Supported input dates are 1900–2100.

Questions you might have

Can I find my rising sign without a birth time?

Usually not reliably. It changes quickly with time and location. Check a birth record; use the birth chart’s unknown-time option for information that remains available.

Does moving change my rising sign?

Your natal Ascendant uses your birth place and birth moment. Moving does not change that original chart.
